The brand Flava Stylings was established in 2016, founded by C.E.O. Tatiana L. Jones, from Brooklyn, NY. With her parents being from the Caribbean, her mother from Haiti and her father from Jamaica, she found her love for both cultures and traditions but most importantly, in music. At that time, a high school student, with friends determined to become doctors, engineers, lawyers, therapists and more, Tatiana was trying to figure out her future after high school. She wanted to pursue her passion for music, after playing and reading music for 10 years but didn’t find interest in becoming a Music Teacher. However, being told and suggested by friends and family from a young age that she should become a DJ, an interest sparked again in her senior year of high school. However with Caribbean parents that was a “no go” to just become a DJ but they accepted her passion as a minor. Her parents wanted her to find herself and a major for college. After deep thoughts and studying for finals, Tatiana figured out what she wanted to do and go to college. With the sense of fashion, experience in athletics, love for her background and music, Tatiana decided to create a brand that combined her passion for all of them. Hence the creation of Flava Stylings®️.
Flava Stylings is a unisex streetwear brand, that provides fashionable, yet stylish clothing with simple but unique designs, for the millennials. Flava Stylings was created with a sense of exclusivity, where individuals could feel and dress differently with style at affordable pricing. Yet the brand stands for inclusivity with the sizes ranging from small to 3x. The nameFlava Stylings came to be based on Tatiana’s nationality of Haitian and Jamaican descent. In the Caribbean, most if not all words ending in “or”, “er”, and “r” usually end with “a”, henceFlava from the word Flavor.Stylings came from her determination to create a new sense of fashionable style, incorporating that “NYC vibe” in streetwear apparel and unique designs.
Flava Stylings hosted multiple events to not only promote the brand but also create a platform for many aspiring models, photographers, videographers, DJs, bartenders, chefs, entrepreneurs, MUAs, hairstylists and more. With the mindset of, seeing every and anyone grow, become their best self, experience new things and promote their talent, Flava Stylings has put on events such as pop up shops, A Black Business Expo, and the biggest accomplishment of “A Brand So Exclusive Fashion Show”. Not to mention, Flava Stylings has supported other friends/families as well as local businesses and will continue to do so. In addition to being apart of many events hosted by others to support. With appearances in the U.S., Canada, and parts of the Caribbean, Flava Stylings will continue to provide fashionable yet stylish clothing with simple but unique designs, for the millennials worldwide.
